Last week we had the great joy of being at the 2023 TABS conference in Boston, Massachusetts. The conference had featured compelling, innovative, and important sessions on topics including DEI, health and wellness, admission, financial aid, enrollment, marketing and communications, financial management and sustainability, and other valuable sessions for boarding school professionals.

The conference had so many good sessions, but here are a couple we wanted to highlight.

Kalix Marketing Group’s session titled, “Marketing and Communication Tips for Building your School’s  Strategic Marketing Plan,” provided superb insight on building a strategic marketing plan for boarding schools and the associated strategies and tactics including planning for budget that will ensure its success. See more of their insight here.

For more insights on marketing your school, you can also check out our on-demand webinar, “The Do’s and Don’ts of Marketing Your School”.

We also wanted to give a shout-out to the incredible keynote from David Oh, PhD, Principal Systems Engineer for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

David is a Chief Engineer for “Psyche: Journey to a Metal World,” a mission in NASA’s Discovery mission portfolio. This mission will use advanced electric propulsion to visit a type of world never explored: a 150-mile diameter asteroid made largely of metal.

Being together and hearing his inspiring talk reminded everyone of how being unified in goals can take you all the way to the moon. We will keep working on our mission to unite the digital campuses of K–12 private and independent schools here on Earth, while David and his NASA colleagues prepare for their upcoming space expedition!

Jill McGarrity, Senior Customer Success Manager, Community Brands said of the event, “It was thrilling to be part of the Boarding Schools Event in Boston! It was a remarkable opportunity to connect with educators and leaders who are shaping the future. The energy was electric, and it was inspiring to see how our products and services can contribute to this vibrant educational community.”

At Community Brands we know that working together, we have the power to influence the future of education technology and create a meaningful educational experience for students, families, and schools.
